Lulu Wonders What Will It Take Before The IPCMC Is Implemented

A 17-year-old girl was raped in a room at the Putra Heights police station between 6am and 7am on June 18.
11 policemen, including a chief inspector, were identified by a 27 year old man for scalding him with hot water during detention between Dec 23 and 28 2008.
A welder was punched, kicked, elbowed and even whipped with a rubber hose during his 8 days in detention in Jun 2007.

A Kugan was arrested on Jan 15 and brought to the USJ8 police station in connection with a car theft syndicate that was believed to have international links.
He did not leave the police station alive.

Lulu wonders, what will it take before the IPCMC is implemented.
The death of a minister's son whilst in custody?
Do we have to go through another round of a mother's grief?
Implement the IPCMC! Now!
Allow the commission to receive and inquire into complaints, particularly "to detect, investigate and prevent police corruption and other serious misconduct."
Allow them to develop and implement mechanisms to detect, investigate and prevent misconduct.
Let them examine and verify any procedural infringement, corruption and misconduct.

Allow the IPCMC to be implemented to bring glory and honour back to the police force. That the corrupt and unjust will be weeded out, and the policeman be looked upon with trust by all.
Lulu would like that.
And she thinks you would like it too.

Confession - Last Night Lulu Was Very Angry With The Way The Chinese Votes Went

Lulu was following the KT results online last night.
[TV aerial not working-la, else Lulu would have followed the 100% propaganda version via RTM1.]

Every 10 minutes, Lulu would refresh her screen to see the latest. It was quite "kan cheong" as in the earlier part of the count BN [boo sama dia!!!] was leading, then it was neck to neck, then PAS started leading, and did not look back after that.

But halfway through the night, Lulu heard that we had lost the votes in the [for lack of a better description] Chinese polling station.
Lulu's sure, most of you were flabbergasted, just like Lulu. After the full house you-have-to-pay ceramahs, the donations they gave, the we're-so-excited-to-see-you-Teresa enthusiasm, the wow-its-RPK and the Merdeka poll, especially the donations collected cos well, money talks, what happened?
How could they have smiled and clapped and shook our hands and still voted the dacing?

One day has passed.
One day of slow thinking for Lulu.
Some things that Lulu has to consider.

1. Absence of from the younger salurans
On Mar8, many KT voters who were working elsewhere made the effort to balik kampung to cast their vote, mainly against Barisan. As this polls were just a week before Chinese New Year and times are hard, many did not return. The votes which went to PAS on Mar8 from this age group was missing in this election.
Lulu will not be surprised if when the analysis is done, there is a significant difference in the number of voters for the younger salurans which most likely would have translated to votes to PAS if they had returned to vote.

2. TOL issue
You know the row of shophouses facing one another that make up the main street of Kg Cina? Haris explains that [link here] some of them have been there for 5 generations and yet, do not own the title to the land. The shophouses are all sitting on TOL ( temporary occupation licence ) land. That means every year, they are beholden to the power of the day for a renewal of the licence. Whatever the outcome of the by-election, Trengganu state will still be run by UMNO. If they voted PAS, then the warlords of Trengganu would go for the jugular in punishing them. Trust Lulu, the people who live there and voted have been reminded of this by the "nice people" who believe their presence is necessary in working with UMNO.

3. Few in Numbers
Midweek last week, Lulu was chatting with a friend who was in KT. He said, the Chinese there can recognise them already as they had visited them a couple of times. Think about it. If the PR team has visited them time and again, don't you think the MCA and Gerakan fellas would have also done their rounds a few times? You think those people bring glad tidings to you? Forget it! Probably scare you half to death with their personal touch reminders. The Chinese in KT do not have it easy like Lulu of PJU. They are small in numbers and easy to deal with personally in terms of retribution especially in a BN-led state and a BN-led nation.

Lulu still is disappointed with how the Chinese votes went, but Lulu is no longer angry with them.
Lulu hopes that in the next GE, those working in KL will return to vote bringing with them a personal message of hope.
and Lulu hopes that you will be able to see things from their perspective, and if you are one of those who laboured there the past 2 weeks, to return whilst their memories of you are fresh, for a goodwill visit. It is not a lost cause. We have many more elections coming in this nation of ours.

Lulu Cis-Cis Some Pretentious Dungus

In his suit, GGMM pro-tem committee member, Nik Rizman said he felt obliged to stop the authorities in Penang from "belittling the official status of Bahasa Malaysia".
Malaysiakini Multi-lingual signboards: Penang gov't says it has prerogative

Lulu thinks he should go after UMNO.
UMNO is the acronym for United Malays National Organisation.
Hey Nik Rizman, That's English!!!
Isn't UMNO like the main [or in their eyes, the only] proponent of Malay nasionalism?
Why are they still using a name based on the language of the conquerors who held them in shackles?
How can......
Tak malu-ah???

Cis-cis Encik Nik Rizman
Cis-cis Gabungan Graduan Melayu Muda (GGMM)

Maybe it's time you clean up your own backyard before you go cucuk-ing childish fights elsewhere.

As for your lawsuit against the Penang state government to erect multi-lingual signboards, Lulu hopes you don't just lose, but also have to pay costs. 10 top notch lawyers have signed up probono to defend the case. Lulu hopes that the probono-ness means they dont bill the state government, but can actually bill the other party for wasting their time if that party loses.

Lulu Thinks Khairy Has Just Given The Other Trengganu MPs Reason To Sabo The BN Campaign in KT

not that the entire BN, be it the big-bully and mega-greedy UMNO and their errand boy partners in MCA, MIC, Gerakan etc, are not doing it themselves, but when Khairy "pointed out" to the people of KT that
" it would be a great loss for them not to vote in Barisan candidate Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, the former Deputy Home Minister who relinquished his senatorship to contest in the Jan 17 by-election.
The party leadership had earlier guaranteed that Wan Ahmad Farid would be re-appointed a deputy minister should he win the by-election.
“Kuala Terengganu voters were lucky to have two deputy ministers – Allahyarham Razali and Wan (Ahmad) Farid – but if they reject Barisan now, they will lose everything.""
a wicked thought crossed Lulu's mind.
"Kuala Trengganu voters were lucky"
and guess what?
if KT was lucky, then the Trengganu MPs were unlucky.

if Lulu were a BN MP from Trengganu, Lulu would have suddenly realised that there are 2 Minister's position open now that one died-ed and another resigned.
being a greedy BN MP, and understanding the whole mechanics of UMNOputera, contract$, contract$ and more contract$, Lulu would sabo the campaign. Afterall, less man, more share.
Instead of 1 Ministerial post going automatically to Wan Ahmad Farid leaving the other 5 non-Minister MPs to fight for the last one post,
why not take the extra mile to kill off Wan Ahmad Farid's campaign [eg like sending out cropped photos of Wan Ahmad Farid singing karaoke, leaving out the fact that it was a family celebration] and leaving the 2 Ministerial post to be fought out by 5 MPs?

aiyoyo Lulu... you so wicked!!!!

Lulu Is Glad That At Least She Is Learning Something

She said during the campaign period, Wanita MCA would also bring along teachers to teach and hold handicraft workshops while disseminating information on the government's development programmes and policies.
"We believe this approach is beneficial as it is also an opportunity for us to discuss and understand the problems faced by the local people.
"Although the activities may appear small and the attendance limited, to us it is easier to explain matters because of the face-to-face interaction with the target groups,"

hahaha!
at least she has learnt from her own campaigning that MCA ain't got what it takes to attract crowds.

Lulu doesn't think that the "think small" strategy came from being more effective, but rather that "we get small crowds" and this is a more face saving method.

Hahaha chew mei fun! Lulu also heard about how good you are and how well versed you were in Pempena activites where you were the General Manager. Gosh... even a lulu would have been more capable there.

.... and Lulu Believes In The Tooth Fairy Too

the Star reports that
"A police spokesman said about 30,000 Barisan Nasional supporters and 15,000 PAS supporters had gathered to begin their march to the nomination centre."

at first, Lulu was like, wah... where did BN get 30,000 "supporters" from?

Then Lulu remembered.
aiyah... this is the MSM
remember the sex party that they and the other MSMs all got so journo-horny reporting earlier in the week?
in case you forgot, let lulu refresh your memory
Thursday January 1, 2009 MYT 5:11:00 PM - Police arrested a female newscaster of a private television station and 25 others who took part in a sex party at a hotel room in Jalan P. Ramlee on Thursday. During the raid, three couples were on the bed while the rest were entertaining themselves and believed to have been intoxicated, she said
Friday January 2, 2009 A noted female newscaster and an actress were among 26 people caught in a sex party at a hotel in Jalan P. Ramlee here early yesterday morning. Later, along with some other acquaintances, they proceeded to the four-star hotel to attend the sexual escapade. “There were also three couples lying on beds, but they were clothed,” added the sources. It was also through the online social network that the alleged sex party was organised.
Friday January 2, 2009 MYT 3:49:00 PM Police will not pursue sex charges against the 26 people arrested during an alleged sex party on Thursday morning but the case will be referred to the narcotics department for further action. When police stormed the 11th floor of the four-star hotel room in Jalan P. Ramlee here at 3.30am, all the people were still clothed and the few condoms that were found had not been used.
and finally,
Saturday January 3, 2009 City CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Ku Chin Wah said police would investigate the case for drugs as no sexual acts were committed at the purported sex party. All were intoxicated but still clothed when arrested, he said.

30,000 BN supporters in KT?
ahem... Lulu thinks not.
Harakah reports Jumlah penyokong Pakatan Rakyat setakat ini dianggarkan melebihi 40,000 orang manakala penyokong BN pula kurang dari 10,000 orang.
Malaysiakini reports The media reported that the police estimated 20,000 PAS supporters and 4,000 BN supporters had gathered for the nomination
NST didnt put a number
Even the lowlife Utusan reported 10,000 BN supporters but did not mention how many there were for PAS.
shame on The Star for such bad reporting.
Shameful, but not surprising

Lulu's 2009

2008 was a great year for Lulu.
Lulu bought her kenwood and baked a lot of cakes, cookies, pies and bread. Some jadi-ed, most could have been better.
BN lost their 2/3 majority in the elections.
MCA got trashed.
Tony Pua was elected as Lulu's MP, and this was made doubly sweet cos Chew Mei Fun lost.
Lulu changed job and shifted.
Lulu managed to sell her apartment before the financial crisis got too bad.
Lulu made new friends, and hopefully, no enemies.
God reassured Lulu of His presence and sent His angels to watch over her every step of her clumsy way.

Indeed it has been a good year.

2009 will be a challenging one for both the nation and lulu.

We will definetly be impacted by the economic slowdown and recession happening in the west. To make things worse, the price of our two most blessed commodities, petroleum and palm oil have dropped like crazy, around 1/3 and 1/4 of its price. As if that was not bad enough, our economy and finances are run by a group of people who think that what is good for UMNO cronies is good for the country cos they know that if the cronies do well, UMNO will get lots of "donation" which will enable them to continue running the country "well".

On the Pakatan front, whilst there are reports of cracks, Lulu agrees that there are disagreements, but also bears in mind that
1. the mainstream media is playing up on it esp in light of the KT by-election
2. the disagreements show that within Pakatan, there is room for disagreement and to agree in their disagreement rather than the Barisan way of "there is only one way - the UMNO way"
3. hudud is something that PAS has always held on to and DAP will never agree to. Whilst PAS, even with the help of UMNO, is unable to get the 2/3 to go along with this, we still need to keep tabs on this without being overly alarmed.
4. aiyah.. as with all newly weds [not like lulu knows from personal experience], there will be some quarrels here and there.

Lulu hopes that 2009 will be a year of defeat for Khairy. defeat-ah, not defeating. Lulu hopes he gets trashed in UMNO Youth elections. May he get a resounding "NO" from the people he pretends to be one of. Maybe we'll get lucky and like those typical Malay movies of Malaysia, he will insaf and bertaubat.

On a personal side, Lulu sees a lot of challenges ahead.
A new job in a totally new environment,
meeting new people of which most of them [dont tell them, kay] scare Lulu half to death cos Lulu's quite timid,
baking cakes which Lulu hopes will jadi,
going through emotional highs and hopefully, not partnered with really low lows,

Lulu's prayer for 2009 is that she will remember God at all times.

Psalm 34
1 I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the LORD, you his saints,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 A righteous man may have many troubles,
but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems his servants;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

Amen

Lulu hopes that you will rise above the challenges faced in 2009
