“Dalam tempoh sama kerajaan Pas Kelantan hanya membelanjakan sejumlah RM23.5 juta iaitu satu jumlah yang lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan perbelanjaan yang dibuat Kerajaan Pusat," katanya kepada pemberita selepas menghadiri program Jejari Bestari anjuran Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita di Manek Urai di sini, semalam. - Sinar Harian RM89.8 juta untuk bantu rakyat miskin
How dare she belittle PAS work?
The money they get is from whatever assesment and land tax.
All their revenue, be it taxes, petrol, gas or whatever goes to federal.
And federal money is the rakyat's money.
The bible has a story of how a poor widow came to the temple and dropped two small coins in an environment where many rich people put in large amounts. Jesus commended her saying, "For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on".
For Sharizat to boast of the "a lot she gave", and belittle PAS's "hanya membelanjakan", this totally, totally disgusts Lulu.

However, Lulu thinks Khairy also has no qualms about playing the racial card, and looking more Melayu than the Melayu rempit racing on NPE during the weekend just to score points.
You have to understand, Khairy was born in Kuwait. His parents were with the Foreign Ministry. He grew up abroad. He never went to Sekolah and didnt get to make friends with Ali, Abdul and Abu. He has these insecurities of not being Melayu enough. Hence his needs to "kami Melayu" and all his "I am one of you" statements.
Lulu thinks its pathetic and disgusting the way he plays the race card to stir up hatred amongst the races, just to gain points from the Malay electorate which Khairy, in his heart, knows he does not fit in.
A hypocrite? definitely.
A racist? Lulu not too sure.
In making the announcement, Muhyiddin said it had been difficult in selecting the candidate because there were many eligible people.Lulu remembers reading something about the "many eligible people" the week before.
"Nevertheless, we considered the matter in detail. We are fielding a candidate who is well accepted by the constituents," he added.
The leading name for Umno is Tuan Aziz Tuan Mat, 38, a senior government servant and Kuala Krai Umno Youth chief.Don't you love the "many eligible candidates" that UMNO has to offer?
“He is also local-born which is important because Umno is not friendly to parachute candidates,” said Kelantan-born businessman Juhaidi Yean Abdullah.
A mechanical engineer by training, Tuan Aziz is the most qualified name, has no baggage, but is said to be less than keen to give up his job to contest the elections.
There are several others on the list but they have some baggage or other. One had erected a “palatial villa” on top of a hill in the area after only one term as an assemblyman.
Another is willing but is rather too old while yet another recently built a new house which sticks out like a sore thumb amid the humble surroundings.
btw, looks like it was another tak-baca-suratkhabar day for Muhyiddin :D

He did not say how many would be awarded
He did not say how it will affect the current 2,000 scholarships offered by JPA.
He did not say if it is on top of the JPA quantity
He did not say if JPA would be changing the quota currently used.
He did not address how top students will be recognised in 2010 where there will be students from religious schools are allowed to take 11 subjects, 1 more than the rest. [from 2011 onwards only will all students be capped at 10 subjects]
Lulu not sure if it is a yay or boo at this point of time.
“Has PAS lost the art of wooing the hearts of the voters or have they lost their minds to subscribe to such a militant approach?” he asked.
This was soon followed up by Kelantan Barisan Nasional Youth who threatened to lodge a police report against Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and other Pas leaders for allegedly making seditious remarks that could provoke violence. State Umno Youth chief Anuar Safian said: "During the launch of their election machinery recently, Pas leaders told their members and supporters to defend Manik Urai even if it meant through street fighting or bloodshed. Is this the teaching of Islam that Pas is promoting?"
Lulu suspects DPM Muhyiddin didnt read the papers that day cos yesterday, he proudly declared that Umno will fight to the last drop of blood to protect Malay rights, the status of the Malay Rulers, Bahasa Malaysia and Islam as these matters are enshrined in the Constitution.
Talk of shedding blood in a civilised society is so not happening. What is needed would be education, talk, love and understanding.
Is this the teaching of Islam that
Kes polis rasuah menurundont you love the simplistic reasoning that wearing the badge has successfully reduced corruption by 45%?
Pemakaian lencana kempen bantu penurunan 45 peratus
nothing to do with conscience, teaching the policemen to differentiate between right and wrong, providing the police force a better pay package ... you get what i mean?
all it took was some button badge
to think that we suffered all these years cos they werent wearing the right button badge.
and before you say, huh! the police force still as corrupt, let lulu tell you a kisah benar
it was a week ago, along the highway at Tmn Connaught, Cheras.
There was an ops going on.
Lulu's friend got pulled over.
the conversation went something like that
she: what was the offence?
she: I'm sure i'm not speeding
cop: ada cik
she: if so, then write me the saman
cop: its ok miss. you just apologise, say sorry
cop: ok, boleh jalan
see? kes rasuah has turun-ed
whether is was because of the 'Integriti Amalan Kita' button badge or her refusal to offer a bribe, that remains unanswered.
have a good day folks, and remember, "integriti amalan kita" :P

Lulu Very Very Worried That The Taser Guns Will Be Used On People Who Dont Agree With The Government
Currently, the stun guns would be issued to policemen on patrol car duty and would only be used on aggressive criminals in dangerous situations. It is learnt that it may also be distributed to the Federal Reserve Unit, Special Action Unit and Narcotics Department. The taser can zap you from as far as 7 meters.
"We are not trigger-happy enforcement authorities. There are a few levels involved, including engaging in negotiations and giving warning before we use force."engaging in negotiations"
"Using any form of weapon is always the last resort for us. We want to make sure all grounds are covered before we deploy it."
these sound like the "procedure" the PDRM uses at candlelight vigils, protests like Ber.sih and even family dinners like the one organised by Charles Santiago last weekend.
Lulu's worried in case these weapons are used against people whose crime is to not have the same opinion as the ruling party and are pleading with the government and the king to hear their cry.
Lulu hopes this thought and intention never crosses their mind.
He said this was to ensure that the people realised the danger of the disease and to get the message across to them more accurately.
It is also easier for radio and TV announcers to say selsema babi (swine flu) than H1N1 in Bahasa Malaysia. – Bernama
as RPK put it very aptly,
H1N1 is a mouthful to pronounce in Malay. H-one-N-one is four syllables in English. But if in Malay, which would be H-satu-N-satu, it would be six syllables. Selsema babi is only five syllables.
Rais Yatim's thinking really-really scares Lulu.
As it is, there are mega major concerns on the standard of English in Malaysia
If Rais Yatim's solution to a pronounciation of H-one-N-one is not to practise until they get it right but to take the easy way out and call it selsema babi, Lulu wonders, how are we going to solve the language problem faced by the new generation.
and Rais Yatim owes the announcers community in Malaysia an apology for either sincerely thinking so lowly of them or using them as an excuse.
[pls excuse lulu for any grammar mistakes made. lulu suspects she was taught communicative english and not grammar]
- Utusan Malaysia Nik Aziz: Pemuda UMNO lapor polis
Lulu took a look at their banners, and if UMNO Kelantan Youth was sincere about feeling offended, then they shouldnt put up such hurtful [and in this case, tohmahan & tuduhan tak berasas) banners. Tohmahan against PAS, DAP and Anuar can also mencetuskan perasaan marah, benci dan kecewa di kalangan ahli.

For those who may not know, Program Cari [to quote Sharizat]
Nurul Izzah was seeking assurance from the Minister that there would be no discrimination from the Welfare Department when giving aid, that if the rakyat qualifies and has been certified by the MP regardless whether from BN or PR, the needy rakyat will get aid.
Saya ingin maklumkan bahawa semasa saya menjadi Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai ramai daripada pengundi yang bukan menyokong Barisan Nasional, tapi oleh sebab mereka miskin, dan memerlukan bantuan, kita gentlemen dengan izin, kita memberi bantuan.
Lulu is wondering, what is there to be "gentlemen" about?
It is the ministry's responsibility to give out aid.
It is not because you are generous
or big hearted
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
[and now that KTK is the report card minister, it is your KPI]
It is not for you to ask a single mother of 5 who is taking 2 jobs who they vote for, it is your responsibility to help provide assistance to her.
the sort of Ministers we have
Lulu was going to say we should vote Sharizat out the next elections, but [hahaha!] the folks at Lembah Pantai has already done it :D
guess we have to vote the whole party and coalition out so that we wont see her back again as Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat brought in via the Senator backdoor.
She said since Todt, who was appointed last month, was serving and promoting the country on a voluntary basis, it was only fair that the government covered his expenses.Lulu not sour grapes-ing over Todt's generous "budget" cos some day, Lulu will be world famous [in a positive way, of course].
"Just because he is volunteering his services, you cannot expect him to pay out of his own pocket.
"This budget is not for his personal use, it is for the expenses incurred when he meets top people from television and the media.
"Besides, RM1 million in Europe gets you nothing nowadays," she said at the Parliament lobby.
But Lulu can't really see Todt's love for Malaysia as an attraction for foreigners to come visit Malaysia. [Maybe Todt's love for Malaysian gal manifested in his having Michelle Yeoh draped over his arms will make some angmor think that all Malaysian gals look like that. but Lulu dont think that is the tourist that NYY is seeking to attract considering she didnt want to let in China maids] How many French men/women do you think will oo-wow-i-want-to-go-holiday-in-Malaysia after seeing Todt in a function?
and his "helped the ministry make influential contacts in Paris, including a top film producer, a magazine publisher and aides of French President Nicolas Sarkozy", how much do you think that would have actually cost him? If he is really-really famous and influential, Lulu would think that all he needs to do is pick up the phone. Why the need to set aside so much money for him?
by the way, Lulu is worried that because Todt is always with Michelle [like as if Lulu good friends with them like that, calling them Todt and Michelle], foreigners may get the wrong idea and think that we are a liberal country and its alright for two non-married individuals to *ahem-ahem* [lulu's blushing]. Lulu thinks Todt when on his roadshow should also tell the people that in Malaysia, if you not married, you should be sleeping in separate rooms, else you risk the religious departments or vigilantes knocking on your door demanding to see your marriage cert.

Lulu was aghast [imagine Lulu with an aghast face, kay] when she read this.
How can he do this, so bold and brazen. So chicken-shit UMNO.
But thankfully, Harakah has a follow-up on this
Dr Puad Zakarshi usah perbodohkan kami' - pendidik
Posted by admin
Wednesday, 24 June 2009 13:58
(Hrkh) - Cakap siang pandang-pandang, cakap malam dengar-dengar.
and dont you love the way they identify an UMNO-inclined teacher? lol

In point #10, she says,
My ministry provides a platform for us to enhance the effectiveness of welfare to the poor by enlarging the social safety net. I have raised the poverty line for poor families to access welfare assistance from RM400 a month to RM720 a month. I have implemented the employment of contract welfare officers, recommended by every single MCA divisions, to ensure the effective delivery of welfare to the Chinese Community.
As Lulu read this, Lulu could not help but be sickened by the thought that
- My ministry provides a platform for "us" -> us meaning MCA and MCA alone making use of "her" ministry
- this Minister who is kononnya a Malaysia Minister seems to be only interested in the "effective delivery of welfare to the Chinese Community". What about the Malays, the Indians, the Dayaks, the Kadazans, the Muruts, the Bajaus, the Orang Aslis?
- contract welfare officers, recommended by every single MCA divisions, would probably mean that these recruits would have to be MCA card carrying members (and proud of it) so that the MCA division can vouch for the officer
- Allowing MCA divisions to disburse the aid so that they can take the credit as though the money was from them instead of taxpayers like Lulu
Quite "interesting" her other stuff
In modern Malaysia, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein vowed go to the streets in search for answers to the along problem.
This is how he did it

i wonder if anyone knows really what 1Malaysia is about.
shouldnt Mukriz be telling ALL Malaysians to unite? why just one group?
1Malaysia seems to be whatever you want it to be.
Liow's Kaum Cina terima 1Malaysia
Mukhriz's If the Malays do not unite
They are now looking at various areas to further reduce costs. Executive director and chief financial officer Tengku Azmil Zahruddin said the company was currently talking to employees and exploring additional cost-reduction measures, including reduced work days and pay cuts across the board.
Which got Lulu thinking.
Pak Lah, upon retiring as PM was appointed adviser, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) effective May 1. MAS welcomed Abdullah with his "wide experience" and "extensive contacts" to the non-executive appointment and looked forward to a beneficial association with him. Lulu is wondering if he is getting paid as an advisor. He probably is.
The thing is, you and Lulu knows, Pak Lah not very bright. His "wide experience" probably refers to the many times he sat on a plane. Extensive contacts could mean anything, and not necessarily add value to the position unless they are talking about pulling cables.
So, Lulu can't help but think that MAS should "cut the fat, eradicate waste and boost productivity without having to worry about offending the sacred cows, dead wood and Little Napoleons", and they should start by ridding themself of their non-value added advisor.

The whole world didn't know about it because there was no FRU with water canons waiting outside. The dialogue went off without a hitch, those who attended understood "each other" a little better.
Tonight, Charles Santiago is holding a fund raising dinner in Klang.

by the end of tonight, Lulu thinks the whole world will know how high-handed the police were in handling a simple fund raising dinner organised by an opposition party in Malaysia.

IT'S NOT AN ANSWER
Najib explains scope of exemption for tendersDoes that answer the question on what sort of projects gets exemptions from tenders?
MINISTRIES can only be exempted from calling for tenders for acquisitions costing more than RM100mil if these involved, among others, security equipment or a secret strategic project.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said ministries would need to apply to the Finance Ministry if they wanted to be exempted from calling for tenders for these acquisitions.
what are these "among others"?
"among others" could, for all you and Lulu know, be "to the interest of the Menteri's wife", "if it benefits an UMNO donor", anything and everything.
Lulu wishes Najib had given a more precise answer instead of leaving Lulu to interpret it.

6 were convicted of causing injuries,
4 for various offences under the Police Act,
4 for corruption, and
2 for theft.
The rest were for break-ins, keeping stolen weapons, negligence resulting in the escape of a detainee, intrusion, illegal possession of firearms and drug-related offences
24 cops guilty of crime in 4 years
Note - none found guilty for wrongful death / murder or rape. Lulu was surprised on that.
well, either our police force
is very clean
we have a poor investigating team
we have a poor prosection team
we have very kind judges
Lulu would like to believe our police force is very clean. Sadly, the reality could be different cos Lulu, sometimes, imagination very wild.
Lulu Wonders If There Is Something About the Federal Special Forces of Malaysia (FSFM) Hishamuddin Is Not Telling Us
Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said there would be no compromise on the country’s security.
“We will use any of the existing laws against activities like this,” he said
- FSFM leaders may face ISA curbs
earlier this week, police arrested “General” Nor Azami Ahmad Ghazali, the leader of the banned Federal Special Forces of Malaysia (FSFM).
FSFM is a bogus paramilitary group, claiming to be working with the government on security and intelligence matters. They promise fresh recruits a minimum monthly salary of RM1,900 depending on the speciality. Some could be offered positions in the intelligence gathering sector or the security section.
In 2003, the police uncovered a shadowy paramilitary movement which boasted 8,000 members and a slush fund which ran into millions of ringgit. A raid at a shoplot near the Pantai Hillpark apartments in July 2003 and police seizing a large cache of weapons, uniforms and computer paraphernalia. The weapons included parang and handcuffs, but there was no mention of guns.
Investigations revealed that millions of ringgit had been collected from the sale of FSFM ranks and uniforms to members. Victims are believed to have paid between RM8,000 and RM25,000 for ranks ranging from "Second Lieutenant" to "Captain".
What Lulu doesnt get is, why is our esteemend Home Minister mulling [is that the right word-ah?] the thought of using ISA?
If they are conmen/scam artists, don't we have laws to use against them?
If they had real weapons - guns etc, there are laws against that. Laws that can hang you.
So, why-o-why, is Hishamuddin thinking ISA, and why is he like asking our opinion?
Lulu tak faham
"With a proper monitoring system in place, we can identify hot spots and act fast to sort out the problem,"
The project is being conducted at five Parliamentary constituencies in the Klang Valley, Sabah and Sarawak using UKM's research funding.
Allow Lulu to suggest 2 mega hot-spots for KTK to add to his watch list.
1. you see the + sign along Jalan Lima? that one, famous for spewing racial propoganda
2. the + sign quite obvious. quite a well-known hot spot for racial tension

Initially, there were concerns that he was beaten to death or something like that. However, the autopsy report said the cause of death was the result of "toxaemia secondary to spontaneous peritonitis" or blood poisoning due to a bacteria infection in the intestines.
If there is this bacteria out there which is toxic enough to kill, Lulu thinks the Health Ministry led by the not-very-intelligent Liow should set up a team to trace the source. MOH should also screen the deceased's family, and probably also the police and those locked up in that police station. If the bacteria was potent enough to kill this man, Lulu has cause to be worried that it may take other victims.

The police and fru, having lost patience on that crowd, tear gassed them.
Lulu was thinking-thinking-thinking
if these kids had invited Khairy to join the protest,
they would have gotten police escort instead of police dischord.
afterall, look at KJ's track record
see, police escort.
now, there may be some of you who think we should invite him to the Free Perak movement. or maybe those Bersih Rally type,
or to the funeral of the man who went to the police station hale and hearty but left in a body bag,
but let Lulu tell you now, local causes are not KJ's cup of tea.
Internatinal ones are.
That's why the Iranian cause may have been able to get his support
but we, locals, tak payah-lah ajak dia datang. He wont come.

Out of the 2,923 voters [screenshot thanks to jeffooi.com], 77.6% said YES.
YES, MCA should leave Barisan.
so now a lot of people asking [and laughing] why OTK so stupid, put up a poll like that. A few people think it was a brilliant move to cucuk UMNO.
You wanna know what Lulu thinks?
Lulu looked at the timespan of the poll.
It was initiated on/prior to 27 Aug 08, taking into account that the first vote was on that day.
So, using a MCA tool, aka Star news search, Lulu looked at what was happening around then.
This was prior to MCA elections.
OTK was not president of MCA then. He was a contender.
At the point of time, Chua Soi Lek had not announced which post he was gunning for, though it was widely speculated that he would go for the top seat.
OTK was running to lead a party whose community they claim to be representing had rejected them teruk-teruk in the 2008 General Elections.
Lulu suspects OTK asked that question because he wanted to confirm if that was what the grassroots wanted to hear in his campaign speeches. Some organisatons/people run a poll to gauge what the feedback would be if a project is implemented. Others are fishing to find out what people want to hear, not nessecarily to implement it.
OTK was doing the latter. He will not initiate a move. There was never an intention to do so.
And unfortunately, he forgot about about the poll, until Malaysian Insider picked it up.
Kinda embarrasing, yah?

There was this delightful piece of news from Ipoh that a South American multinational corporation is expected to sign an agreement soon with the Perak government, which will pave the way for a RM9 billion investment over the next 10 years. This is excellent, excellent news that in this economic climate, Zambry was able to get this gi-normous investment to the state which will provide 2,000 jobs when complected.
link : S. American company to invest RM9b in Perak
Then on the next page, there was a report from a 9 1As student who "has the menteri besar to thank" for helping put her on the road to studying medicine. The smart lass has had a difficult life, and Lulu would not grudge her of the scholarship. But Lulu was kinda amused to read of her gushing over Zambry, saying things like "I see him [at this juncture, the newspaper put Zambry's name in brackets just in case we get confused who her "him" hero is] as a father figure who came forward to lessen the burden of my family at a crucial point".
link : unavailable [sorry NST didnt put it online]
Two hero stories in one day.
Zambry is on a roll!
Gosh..., Lulu may even vote for him and his government should Perak state assembly be dissolved tomorrow.
so Lulu got thinking. With all this [and more] good that Zambry has done, shouldn't he feel confident enough to dissolve the assembly and allow the people to elect which government they want in place? afterall, he's such a great guy. RM9billion investment. a father figure to a smart but poor girl. like that, can win mah. Can be MB of the people's heart [ala Princess Diana], and anyway, its not very nice being called a Menteri Besar Mahkamah.
then this news broke. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/29202-zambry-puts-rm9-billion-vale-deal-at-risk
looks like this is not the correct time to dissolve the state assembly.
nope. not now, and by the looks of it, probably never.
MB Mahkamah wants to stay around a little longer.

but after reading Rosmah say things like :
I had to stay in the hotel in Beijing most of the time. He was very busy,”
“Saya pun hot,”
“When he came back, I told him that I wanted to return to Kuala Lumpur immediately.”
Lulu adds the word "stupid" into her list of adjectives for Rosmah.
didn't that sound like a spoilt wife? something the Gabrielle would say to Carlos in Desperate housewives?
But these are the words of our PM's wife according to an article which the Star [note : the Star, not Malaysia-Today] cheekily titled The day Rosmah got ‘hot’ with Najib
Please-lah, he was there to talk business, to bodek Beijing, to make friends with Communist China. In his words, "discuss several substantive matters" with President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
Did Rosmah miss her medication and think that Najib was there in Beijing to accompany her on her legendary shopping trips?
what a stupid-stupid example to give on how understanding your husband is. It reflects the pettiness in her behavior and the shallowness of her thinking.

Grounds for dissent in a KL coffee party
KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — Dressed in black, the colour of protest, 200 activists sat at cafe tables quietly drinking coffee — black, of course. Bewildered, police stood outside and watched the coffee drinkers without interfering.how many did you find?
The protest at three cafes in Kuala Lumpur was their way around a ban on unauthorised protests. It was the latest twist in a row over the governing Barisan Nasional coalition’s seizure of power in Perak.
“Police were coming down hard on us and so we used this unique way to protest and tell people to demand an election in Perak,” said Wong Chin Huat, a protest leader and academic at the city’s Monash University campus. “We managed to send the message across.”
However, Sunday’s protest — which the academic called a “mild form” of civil disobedience — did not last long. Within half an hour, the managers of the cafes — outlets of the popular Old Town White Coffee chain — had ushered the protesters and other customers out the door. A spokeswoman said the three were shutting temporarily for “regular maintenance and renovations”.
She said it was unfair of protesters to use the chain’s outlets for the protest. “We have loyal patrons who are unhappy with so many people suddenly appearing all wearing black, which we associate with death. This is very bad for business.”
Undeterred, pro-opposition NGOs yesterday announced they would repeat the protest tomorrow — at seven Old Town outlets in the capital and Penang. The protesters, who announced the location of the protests via the social networking website Facebook, urged the coffee company not to close the outlets.
“We are only drinking coffee and paying for it,” one protest leader said. “They make money, we get our message across.”
This time, police will be waiting for them. “We are monitoring the targeted outlets and if necessary will arrest any person wearing black as they approach the outlets,” a police spokesman said. — South China Morning Post
1. i dont think there were 200
2. nope, no bewildered police standing outside and watching the coffee drinkers
3. no attempts on Sunday, though there was an attempt on Thursday
4. no managers of outlets ushering protestors out the door
5. no sudden shutting temporarily whilst customers were still halfway minum-ing kopi thought some outlets were tiba-tiba closed on Thursday for “regular maintenance and renovations”.
need to be confirmed
1. Wong Chin Huat speaking to the reporter
2. Spokesperson of coffee house speaking to the reporter
3. black being associated with death. Maybe this is personal. Some associate it with bad luck, others as being cool.
4. The police waiting for protesters tomorrow.
The piece weaved fiction with some events that actually happened. Something happened on Thursday, but not the way he is reporting it.
For a more correct account, please read Malaysiakini's Black T-shirts yes, but no 'White Coffee' in PJ Jun 4, 09 7:41pm
For those who plan to visit Old Town White Coffee in Petaling Jaya tonight, be warned that two of its outlets have closed ostensibly for ‘upgrading’.
A visit to the Old Town outlets in Jaya One in Section 13 (left) and Three Two Square in Section 19 this afternoon indicated that both places have drawn their shutters.
While it cannot be confirmed, the unexpected closure of the well-known ‘kopitiam’ in Petaling Jaya is believed to be related to an invitation in popular social networking site Facebook for Malaysians to participate in a ‘1BLACKAfterWorkCoffee’ session at these two outlets.
According to the Facebook invitation, a number of ‘Black shirt’ activists will be present at the event, including Bersih spokesperson Wong Chin Huat and Teratai state assemblyperson Jenice Lee.
Hundreds plan to have Kopi-O
Facebook has two invitations for the event tonight, where 134 people have confirmed to have a cup of Kopi-O in the Old Town outlet at Jaya One.
Another 138 are planning to go to Three Two Square (right).
It is unclear how many of the hundreds of Old Town White Coffee outlets nationwide have decided to call an early day aside from the two in Petaling Jaya.
It is reported that its outlet in Old Klang Road is also closed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin threw this question to the public to discuss, and for the government to obtain feedback.
Muhyiddin's concern is that many rural students would fail the SPM if English was made a compulsory subject to pass.
A teacher once told me that the passing mark for SPM additional math can be as low as 9/100. Lulu was like, are you sure. She said, yes. At the marking point, examiners tend to be very "generous" and then the ministry sets a lower passing rate [and also the 1A points] to help make it look like our education system in Malaysia is such a success.
That is the sad state of the marking scheme of our government exams. Students who have consistently failed subjects throughout their form 4&5 miraculously pass their exams thanks to the marking scheme
Lulu wonders whats the point of making it compulsory to pass as teachers would be more charitable in the marking, and the ministry very generous in their cut-off point.

Lulu Has Heard of Businesses Closing Cos Of Hartal, but Closing Cos Lots and Lots of People Want to Go There?
According to Malaysiakini
While it cannot be confirmed, the unexpected closure of the well-known ‘kopitiam’ in Petaling Jaya is believed to be related to an invitation in popular social networking site Facebook for Malaysians to participate in a ‘1BLACKAfterWorkCoffee’ session at these two outlets.wow!
Since the non-gathering is such a hit, Lulu thinks they should all gather at Border's next.
Afterall, reading is a good habit to cultivate, and black is a sexy slimming colour to wear (*wink* Lulu wore black to work today :D). Oh! what a coincidence that Borders is owned by the good friend of the "it looks like me, sounds like me but its not me" loyar buruk.

Our very "intelligent", mega embarassing Health Ministers solution/explanation to that?
"The Health Ministry has always practised the open tender process when buying pharmaceutical and medical products, says Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai. He said those registered with the Ministry of Finance could go through Pharmaniaga Bhd that had the exclusive rights to distribute pharmaceutical and medical products to the ministry."uh... duh......
Apa itu Pharmaniaga????

A survey conducted among secondary school students found that many of them did not possess a valid licence because the cost was beyond their reach, Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh said.
“Under the motorcycle licence promotion campaign, those who are applying for the B2 class of below 250cc will get a 50% discount from June 1 to Aug 31,” he told reporters after signing a memorandum of understanding between the Road Safety Department and Safety Driving Centre here yesterday.
The three-month promotion is targeted at secondary school students aged between 15 and 19 and the licence package starts from RM199.
“There are no more excuses for students who don’t have a motorcycle licence; they can apply for it at the Safety Driving Centre in Petaling Jaya and Kelana Jaya,” he added

Lulu is wondering, why only one particular driving center?
What if you live in Mentakab, or Sandakan?
or did the reporter report this piece of news wrongly?
