Lulu doesnt know if the person who was handling the land portfolio under the previous state administration and was also the ex-Deputy Chief Minister in Penang is the big ass culprit behind this or not.

But Lulu can safely guess that its the same IDIOT who together with another idiot orchestrated protests in Penang claiming that the Malays in Penang were oppresed by the "chinese" government led by Gerakan.
This idiot was probably one of the vocal Umno leaders involved in the illegal demonstration against the DAP-led state government near Komtar on Friday March 14.
And this idiot probably called on the Penang Malays to defend the New Economic Policy and Malay privileges, which supposedly have come under threat from the new state government.

Lulu hopes that the Gerakan fellas in Penang will squeal like rats and sing like canaries on whoever the chief idiot is and the rest of the idiots who enriched themselves at the expense of the people they proclaim they defend. Why not? Dont they believe that they lost the state because of UMNO's arrogance? Isn't it payback time?

and Lulu hopes that justice will be upon them and that they will pay greatly for their misdoings.

and whilst Lulu would have liked to see them hang upside down by their toes, Lulu thinks the wrath of those they cheated spewed upon them would be a greater punishment.

the two scenarios on lulu's pretty little mind is

a) Khairy was supposed to be a part of the cabinet line up
but because he-who-has no-influence-on his-fil spoke to the fil before the elections, and this influenced the he-who-is-not-influenced-by-sil to conciously leave him out of the cabinet though he was a "deserving" candidate to be in the cabinet.
Meaning that he-who-has-no-influence does have influence and that he-who-claims-he-is-not-influenced is not a very truthful man.

b) Khairy was never a part of the intended cabinet
and he was just being perasan when informing the father-in-law and the public that he would not accept any offer to join the Cabinet as long as Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is the Prime Minister.
After all, if the PM did feel that his sil is the best candidate for the job, he should have gone ahead and named him, just like how he did for Tengku Azlan and Anifah who later declined the post.
You know how this kind of "i would not accept any offer to join" statement gives the impression that an offer was going to be made when no offer was on the table.

Kinda like Lulu going around telling people that she will turn down Daniel Wu [swoon...] 's (pic at the side... swoon again...) marriage proposal - not like Daniel Wu [swoon...] even knows who Lulu is, erh... much less ask for Lulu's hand in marriage..

The placement of punctuations, and whilst Lulu is at is, capital words [ABC vs abc] can make a difference in the meaning of a sentence.

For eg,
the headline Rafidah not sure about Azalina’s Wanita status would carry a very different meaning if the caps were not placed correctly. Can you imagine if the proofreader got sloppy and the headline came out as "Rafidah not sure about Azalina’s wanita status"?

It was a pleasant surprise to see Zaid Ibrahim named in the new cabinet line-up. Many, like Lulu, have a great respect for him.

Do a google on his name. Read his rave reviews. Lulu thinks there's hardly any Malaysian who does not know about his infamous suitcase and his command of the English language.
Lulu cannot fathom why the "I will change" PM has put him in. The reasons that Lulu can think of is
1. he has some hidden debt to Muhammad Muhammad Taib
2. it is the PM's act of vengeance on netizens considering how much we love Muhammad Muhammad Taib

Pre-election time, the mainstream media (msm) spinned and spinned and spinned. It was amazing, the songs of glory heaped on the BN candidates. Lulu's ex-MP was glorified, and her current MP [YAY!YAY!YAY!] was villified [boo.... to the nasty people].
When dawn broke on Sunday, Lulu thinks one of the truth and realitiy that the MSM editors had to face was that it looks like the rakyat was not believing what the press had published.
And that hurt.
No longer could they publish rubbish [lol! it rhymes] and get away with it.
The time to speak some truth [ok-lah... we can't expect overnight changes] has come.

Lulu Wonders If Lee Chong Meng Would Fly Down To Penang And Fend The ShopOwners There

a protest by 1,000 UMNO members and supporters was held around the Komtar vicinity this afternoon.
What could they have been protesting? The NEP?
Can't be. The Chief Minister had already met with 21 Muslim NGOs and explained to them that he wants to rid the tainted-with-cronyism-and-corruption NEP. Mind you, not the NEP per say, but the [repeat after Lulu...] tainted-with-cronyism-and-corruption NEP. Lulu thinks the NGOs left the meeting with a good feeling of days to come.
So, what were those UMNO fellas protesting? Maybe they were protesting the do away of UMNOputera rights.

Anyway, Malaysiakini reports that most of the shops nearby including Maybank in Komtar were briefly closed.
Now... isnt this a "Lee Chong Meng" moment?
Shouldnt he fly down to Penang at once book a hotel meeting room, gather those affected to protest against public demonstrations and condemn UMNO for affecting the businesses?
It is his niche, right?

Don't they know that the ruling party government has been telling the people that ini bukan budaya kita?
How dare they defy the government of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi [which is not necessarily led by him]?

Lulu can only guess who the dalangs are behind this.
And Lulu is quite sure that those dalangs are not going to be present.
They will be watching and cheering from their airconditioned office, ready with a statement to condemn the state government when their kuncus go riot.
Lulu pities the kuncus, treated as pawns in this horrible game. It is doubtful if they'll get police escort like what Mr "Madam Conderezza Rice, I WANT YOU TO COME OUT NOW" KJ got.

Lulu can only hope and pray that the moderate Malays will speak up and explain to those who do not properly understand and are wrongly influenced that there is no intention to marginalise, that if you are poor and in need, you will be helped. The poor will be better off, and the UMNOputeras will gain their contract in a fair tender via best offer and not best connection.

Former MCA vice-president Chua Jui Meng made a plea to current party president Ong Ka Ting to do the right thing and step down.

At a press conference in his Kuala Lumpur office today, Chua said the Chinese community has already "rejected Ong in the clearest possible manner."

"For the sake of MCA, please reconsider your decision not to step down. You must do the honourable thing. It is only politically ethical to take responsibility," he said.

Describing the party’s election defeat as "the darkest hour in our history", the former health minister said Ong placed his personal agenda above MCA and Barisan Nasional (BN).

"He dropped all the experienced and senior MPs who consistently delivered the votes and carried huge majorities even in the 1999 elections. They were taken out in name of rejuvenation.

Chua then proceeded to give several examples including his own seat in Bakri which was the sole parliamentary seat lost in the BN stronghold of Johor.

"I was taken out, the president did not even call me. I built up this parliamentary seat since 1986 which I won for five terms.

"What was the reason? Bakri was a strong division with 13,000 members. People said if I stood, they would support me, not the party," the seasoned politician related.

In 2004, Chua defeated DAP’s Azhari Ismail by a massive 19,059 majority.

However, in the elections that just ended, Ong picked Tay Puay Chuan from the Muar division who lost by 722 votes to DAP’s Er Teck Hwa.

Chua also said that Ong had picked new faces to contest in order to secure their votes to retain his president position in the party elections due to take place in three month’s time.

Silent politics
Another reason why MCA did so poorly was because Ong remained silent on many important issues that were besieging the Chinese community, according to Chua.

"He remained silent when people expected him as party president to speak up for the community. All he would say is that he would discuss this behind closed doors

"A silent politician is no politician. Silent politics is equivalent to zero politics. We paid for that big mistake he made," he asserted.

He added if MCA does not address the problem in its leadership, the party will suffer "a tsunami together with a tornado" in the next general election

Relations between Ong and Chua had soured since the latter challenged the former for the MCA presidential post in the 2004 party elections.

However Chua lost and has been sidelined by the party since then. He went on to focus on his business ventures soon after.

Asked whether he would make a political comeback, he smiled and answered: "I don’t think so. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time now."

BTW a lot of people have lost perspective over the issue. The objection was not the candidate's race or religion [remember, they were ok with the PKR choice?) but that the chosen MB belongs to a party which has the intention to form an Islamic state.
DAP is on one end of the secular/religious spectrum, and PAS is on the other pole. DAP has to answer to the rakyat why a PAS representative was chosen to head the state. And when Lulu says "the rakyat", do not think that this is a Chinese/Indian thing as there are Malays who do not agree to an Islamic state.

Every year, the school gives out the "student of the year" award. The award is given to the student who gets the highest score in the final exams.
All the years in its existense, the award had always gone to a boy.
Suddenly, this year, when the final year exa results were tabulated, your daughter scored the highest points.
WOW! Your whole family rejoices!
Then the school calls your home.
Tells you that the award has to be given to be given to a boy because it turns out in the constitution left over from the all-boys day was that the award winner is refered to as a boy. There is no provision for a girl to be the "student of the year".
Your daughter accepts the verdict. She has no choice.
but you cant really blame her, her friends and probably yourself, for feeling that life is kinda unfair, and that merit is merit regardless of gender.

Lulu Thought DAP would have 2 State Chiefs

so, this piece of news really surprised Lulu - that the MB would be from PAS.

Lulu made some phonecalls (like real... well, 2 phonecalls are considered phonecalls with a plural s) to find out what happened.

A friend explained to Lulu that most states have a law which says that the MB must be a Malay, hence, the PAS guy was chosen.

someone out there conned some innocent, blur villagers from Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan. That someone(s) told them that they would not be allowed to vote if they did not have the ink mark on their fingers.
Some of you may think that this is unbelievable.
So, there are now some voters out there walking around with the ink mark on their finger, even before polling day!
As a result, our very honourable and trustworthy EC has cancelled the usage of indellible ink.
Because of that.
Not because the law on indelible ink has not been enacted (see Malaysiakini EC's fragile reputation suffers another blow), making its usage optional, but because there are some villagers from Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan who have been marked.

no, she hasnt broken the budget yet, but that's already more 1/4 of her budget, spent glorifying the moments that she is proud of, with little mention of her contribution on policies and direction for the nation.

The booklet is called "her greatest coup". Going by the response of DAP's ceramahs, Lulu would think that the booklet does nothing to justify her as a parlimentarian, but instead highlights everything wrong about her.

Lulu's Urgent Call For Polling and Counting Agents

did you know that when the polling station is closed, the box is emptied out and the counting process begins.
the returning officers will open the ballots in front of the observers appointed by the candidates (aka counting agents). those indicating the rockets are placed into the rockets tray, and dacing macam cacing into their tray.
for votes which are not so clear cut aka "undi ragu", the two counting agents will make the call on whose tray the vote belongs to.

if there is no rocket agent, the vote will [but of course] go to dacing macam cacing.

that is why the role of the counting agents is so very important.
cannot play-play
if no counting agent, then youknowho will get those votes.
AND Lulu doesnt want to see that happen.
fair is fair. Lulu will not act and insist on a vote which looks like the cacing's. but if no one is there to watch the proceedings, do you think the rocket will have a fighting chance in this race?
