Lulu Shudders At The Possibility of The Race Relations Act Being Used To Formalise Racism In Malaysia

Do you know that if you order Hokkien mee in Penang, you will not get a plate of big fat lok yellow mee,
but instead, you get a bowl of this egg noodles and rice noodles served with soup which is made from both fresh shrimp and dried prawns. yummy too!

Do you know that in the UK, the Race Relations Act covers discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin in the fields of employment, the provision of goods and services, education and public functions?
Both direct and indirect discrimination are an offence. Those affected by discrimination can seek redress through employment tribunals and the courts.

Everyone's favorite *roll eye* how-stupid-do-you-think-the-rakyat-are minister is one of the two ministers in charge of gathering information and data to draft the Race Relations Act for our country.
The Act would touch on race relations through the economic, education and distribution systems, and includes provisions on punitive action while using the Federal Constitution as the guideline, he said.
What do you think?
Do you think we'd get a UK style Race Relations Act which covers discrimination?

Knowing Syed Hamid, knowing UMNO, knowing the racists and supremacists, Lulu thinks not.
Lulu shudders at the thought of all those new things they would define which we are not allowed to persoalkan.
Lulu hopes that these are one of those acts which will require a 2/3 majority vote and if it has even a whiff of racism and/or supreme-ism at all, the MPs on both sides of the dewan will vote by conscience.

Race Relations Act?
This one we must follow carefully.

To have this Race Relation Act means umno have to abandon the NEP.
This also means that Lim Kit Siang or Karpal Singh may one day be the Prime Minister.
An honest Race Relation Act clearly means no more ketuanan melayu.
No " ketuanan telur" as well.

I am blur on this now, umno a 100 % racist party willing to do all these?
April Fool's day ar?

cannot call him al-blur. cannot question ketuanan melayu. cannot even mention the words "special rights" unless you are of "special rights group".
cannot mention "pendatang" but if UMNO has forgiven you, the laws dont apply anymore. If need be, there will be some "irrelevant" judges to decide whats an offence or not under the RRA.
BY the way, RRA doesnt affect me one bit coz I have given up talking about equality long time ago.
How about that Lulu.

The Ketunanan Melayu doesn't come directly under our constitution. It was a social contract made prior to 1957, and UMNO couldn't use any law (bar ISA) to pin those who questioned Ketuanan Melayu.

The Race Relations Act is going to be foremost act to pin those people.

I'm afraid mr blur will just have to shut his mouth a little while....

He's made a fool out of himself too much...

It is really not surprising at all for the 'non-privileged' group to be indifferent to the proposed RRA as they have been so disillusioned with the mentality and sincerity of the current high office bearers.

In Ipoh, if you are talking about Hokkien Mee, you are actually talking about prawn noddle.

Race relation act? The problem is not whether we have the act or not, the problem is whether we have the mentality to act just.

Fact is, some people don't have it - that very mentality to act just.

So if anything in its name is made into an Act, it will only end up justifying their unjust nonsense. No way can anything else be expected under this present Dark regime of fascist and racist umno.

Penang Prawn Mee best. Ipoh one; never tasted.

Race Relation Act suggestion is laughable.

As if society can be guided in accepting each other by the law.

Good policies are the way to go and unfortunately, there have been far too many wrong turns taken.

Can we still make the U-Turn now?

God Bless, Lulu

We clutch at any straw trying to make ugly wot's fair when we're not happy with it.

Y'all should know wot that means.

emm...but there are actually distinction with the naming, lulu...

the correct name for the dark thick noodles is Hokkien Chau. That means fried the hokkien way...

Similarly, you have the Gong Fu chau, that's the Cantonese way of frying...

But since most people prefer the hokkien chau with Mee only, so it is called Hokkien mee in short. But if you are like me who wants a mixture of mee and meehun in the hokkien char, then when we order, we should call hokkien chau, mee and meehun....

obviously this is not the topic which lulu wishes to stress on...but can't help it...hehe...

Would like to see what the contents of this Race Relations Act is. Be great if it breaks down racial barriers and promotes a just system for all Malaysians. The flipside? Who knows given the kangaroo nature of the Malaysian justice system.

Lulu: Your pix of the lovely char mee and Hokkien mee makes me homesick!
