Lulu Thinks Nik Aziz and Hadi Awang Has Been Watching Too Many American Shows

"It is normal for Christians to swear on the Holy Bible and it seems that he wanted to follow the Christian way of doing it.
"In Islam, it is enough to say the three holy words – wallahi, wabillahi, watallahi. There is no need to hold the Quran,"

The Star Nik Aziz: Swearing on Quran not Islamic practice

erhm... Lulu has been a Christian for many years now, and she has never sworn on the bible before.
neither have any Christians she knows.
The bible teaches us,
Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Matt5:37
God's command is for us to be people of our word. We are to mean what we say. Fullstop. No need to swear-swear here and there.

must be the influence of American shows cos those lawyer-lawyer show always show the witness putting their hand on the bible and swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
must be-lah.

perhaps saiful should emulate chinese movies that if he's making a false oath, his family will drop dead, his wife-to-be elopes with another man, his 10 generations will be damned to poverty and beggar, and he'll be burned in hades for 10,000 yrs.

especially the oath-taking is made during thunderstorm.....

that makes swearing more realistic.....

And the Bible too as we see it today, came about 300 years after Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.

Anyway, there is this statement made by Ezam in today's Malaysiakini ""Abdullah told Azizah that he was a Muslim leader and he has never been cruel to anyone, what more to Anwar and Wan Azizah, when he knew their parents,".

Now, it escapes me. What has being Muslim got to do with being a leader or never being cruel?

When anyone says muslim leader, I have Saddam Hussein's face, Idi Amin's face and that sort conjured up in my head.

So is whatever Ezam trying to suggest supposed to be complimentary or a threat?

The US president and other political leaders take an oath of office by placing their hands on a bible and declaring " I proomise ... so help me God"

oh lulu, love ya sis... was discussing this very issue with hubby just a couple of hours ago. jesus tells us to not swear.. not upon heaven or upon earth.. but he tells us that our yes should be yes and our no must be a no always...

why do non-christians always have to emasure christians against examples set by the americans... *sigh*

muuuaah, lulu!

Glad to "know" that the Pas leaders watched American movies .As locally produced drama sucks big time.
Okay, they are a naive bunch when comes to non islamic affairs.
At least they declares that saifool's quranic swearing is unislamic and totally haram.
But Prime Minister Abdullah AlBodohwi supported the quranic swearing and therefore making it very legal tender.

Saifool and PM have strange motives indeed.
If saifool swears by the quran, why dont he take his case to the islamic court?
Since saifool press charges by civil court , aint now his act by swearing is a contempt?
Charges have to be change from 377b to a 377c .
And imagine the next scenario.
If all the muslim prisoners and the muslim ISA detainees serving sentence in Kamunting or any jails within the territory of Malaysia make a quranic declaration that they are innocent .
Shouldnt they be set free ?
Non muslim prisoners will convert to islam too, to enjoy such big loopholes.

As for DSAI, he dont have to swear this and that.As DSAI is facing the civil court.Civil court and the common law do not recognize quranic swearings.

But if the court really takes into account of saifool's quranic swearing. I think all of us muslim or non muslim should have that book and swears We really hates bn government..
Lets see the reaction.

to anonymous 6.04pm........so did Mugabe after his recent elections, just because they do so- doesn't make it right.Swearing isn't biblical or according to the doctrine, which is clearly as Lulu quoted.

The Agong swears on the Quran when taking office. Anwar will need to swear 'when' he takes over PutraJaya. He has sworn before in the name of Allah to be the DPM.

I wonder why he not only supported but stood by Bala's swearing. Only the first onelah. The second one he said cannot count ma. He also supported and defended when the Myanmar doctor swore about an arsehole or something.

Maybe, just maybe he only support sworn statements if it benefits him.

What a Lulu!

Dear Old Fart,

You must be reading too much books written by fringe liberals on Christianity.

The bible did not come 300 years after Christ and that is an established historical fact. There are enough historical records (in fact far more than any historical records in history) to prove within 100 years after Jesus died and resurrected that supports the present day theological doctrines.

But is there a complete compiled book form of bible during Jesus' time? No and hence one can't swear on that right?

As such, just because man concocts the practice doesn't mean God is responsible.
