You Know What Lulu Wished They Had Talked About?

New Straits Times and the Star headlined Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's revelation that he had met PAS leaders thrice to discuss issues on Islam and Malay unity.
Both Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also led with the premier's disclosure that he had met PAS top leaders on three occasions.
Sin Chew Daily and China Press frontpaged Prime Miniser Abdullah admitting that he has meet PAS decision-makers three times, to discuss Malay Unity and Islamic issues.

You know what Lulu wished they talked about?
Justice, mercy and their relationship with God.
Malay unity and Islamic issues are nothing but vanity if you are unable to display Godly virtues.

He has shown you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
And to walk humbly with your God

- taken from the Bible Micah 6:8

Pas must remember its 12th GE manifesto i.e. 'Islam is for all'. They have attracted many non malay voters who see them as rather clean leaders. To cooperate themselves with UMNO would deemed as doom to reform the system.

Btw, it's difficult to read Pas these days except TGNA statements which stand firm with PR. This tuan guru is noble with his course that is to uphold justice and he knows how to deal with 'masyarakat majmuk' issues which is why he is being accepted graciously by people from all walks of life.

Pas advocates are weary of this 'cooperation' and see it as Umno desperate move to garner support from the malay communities. Some quarters seized this as an opportunity to work from within which is impossible knowing Umno past history. I will not rule out monetary gains/posts offered to some leaders.

Lets hope that TGAHA Pas supreme leader will not succumb to this cheap and phoney political manoeuvring by Umno.

I just wonder what will umno do to MCA, Gerakan or MIC if they were to have a pow wow with PKR or DAP just like the umno-pas talk.

Times Are Bad, Politicians Are Bad And The Government Is Bad

That's why I agree totally with Susan Loone, e.g., that integrity is above unity. Especially so, since the nature of "unity" with umno has acquired a definite sinister and hegemonic concoction to it.

you're right, lulu. Why all the hype over Malay unity when PAS stands for Parti Se-Islam and not Parti Se-Melayu? If Pas is really serious about being the beacon of light for the Muslims as it claims to be, it shouldnt get distracted by racist issues. Didnt the Quran say all men should be treated equal? I'm sure Allah doesnt look too kindly on hypocrisy.
