Lulu Thinks That The PM, In Trying To Sound Intelligent, Confirms To Us His Lack Of Leadership

Lulu thinks the PM was trying to impress us when he said that OKT's decision does not surprise him as he is intelligent enough to have caught the many hints that OKT has dropped.
The Star reports that
“In the past Datuk Ong had hinted such issues to me; (he) used to drop hints,” he told reporters after launching the Bumi Hijau programme here yesterday.
As such, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he was not too surprised to hear of Ong’s decision and that of MCA deputy president Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy not to seek re-election.

now, now.... isnt the PM the head of Barisan Nasional?
Wouldn't / Shouldn't OKT have gone to consult him, or at least inform him of his intention to not seek reelection?
Afterall, as useless as the MCA may be, they're still a component of MCA of which the PM is boss.
If not for advise, then at least for courtesy sake, rather than have this head of Barisan find out through his aides who probably found out via a bernama sms news alert?
Sounds like OKT "see him no up" and PM mega-failed in his attempt to look intelligent.
Our nation's PM, instead of looking like someone intelligent and able to catch the hints, ends up confirming our suspision that he does not command the respect of his subordinate-partners and is not in control of his coalition.

Lulu, u have made a brilliant analysis. I agree with you that as a head of a component party in BN, he should have consulted Dollah first. Nobody respect Dollah now.

Lulu,

In another possible interpretation, OKT n/or his deputy are really fed-up with PL's way of dealing or taking things (un)graciously. In his own statement, if i remember correctly, OKT said he accept full responsibility and shld in one way or another, bow out respectfully for the sake of the party to be taken over by other "untested" leader. This may go well with the grassroots of the party, to let other leaders try and lead the party with fresh ideas and zest.

OKT prefer to bow out this way rather than take a more drastic and unpopular methods like filing a "motion" which we all know is completely useless. He prefer to voice his own views via going out and in a way, hope PL wld take his hints (indirect advice). Sure, OKT openly voiced out the party's support for BN recently, thats on the surface and what "shld" be said. Saying so, he already knows he's taking his exit soon...but if the situation got worst for BN on a latter note, come the new MCA leader, we will see for how long the support will be...

No no no TomCat thinks Lulu didn't get it right. TomCat thinks OKT went to tell Pak Lah about his plans ie to drop out of the GE, to retire and whatever. But pak Lah didn't get it and thought OKT was only hinting...!!
