Don't You Think Lulu's PM Sounding More And More Like A Miss Universe Contestant?

ok. have to clarify first. Lulu has not been watching Miss Universe for very many years dah.

But in the good old days, during the interview session, it would be quite common for the beauty queens to be asked, if they could wish for anything, what would their wish be?
The cliche answer would be stuff like "world peace", "end suffering", "end hunger" etc. Answers which sounds good, but have no substance.

Lulu's PM also sounds very "Miss Universe" in addressing issues.

eg
Addressing the 62nd UN General Assembly
On climate change
“The course of human history is marked by a few pivotal moments, during which we can make the correct or wrong decisions that will impact on the destinies of those who come after us,” Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.
There must be a will to moderate mankind’s excesses using science and technology as tools, the Prime Minister said.
“The time for us to invest in our collective future is here and now.”

It sounds so correct, and so profound.
But try telling that to the people who live in Ulu Klang, and also to the protectors of what used to be Bukit Cerakah.
That's a Miss Universe respond, isn't it?

On Burma
Abdullah said Malaysia disapproved of Myanmar's violent crackdown against pro-democracy protestors.
“Let me express my country's disapproval, together with other Asean countries, on the use of excessive force by the Myanmar government to put down justifiable civilian protests.”

It sounds so correct and so profound.
Now try telling it to the folks at Batu Buruk, and also the people of Burma who are now being told that Asean will never suspend Burma, says M'sia
and yet another Miss Universe response

on keeping our children safe - the Nurin murder
To keep children safe from danger, the Prime Minister has suggested that a single session for schools be implemented.
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said this would mean students starting school as they were doing now and ending at 4pm.

wow! What a brilliant profound solution... except that 1. we don't have the infrastructure to support single session, and 2. most people actually work [unlike him and his sil] and do not finish work before 4pm. Even his government servants dont get off work by then.
Yup! Yup! definetly a Miss Universe contendor.

Some people call it No Action Talk Only, others call it cakap tak serupa bikin. Lulu calls him a misplaced Miss Universe contestant.
He has had many, many more answers and response ala Miss Universe. Lulu has to go back to work, else she would look up for more.
Care to add to the list?

The ol' nincompoop was truly shocked and exclaimed: "Me...me... a misplaced Miss Universe contestant? I am so beautiful? No wonder Jeane fell head over heels for me.."

Any hollow talking head can easily read from a prepared script done by a highly paid script writer. Not as if he can really write his own. The effort can conceivably be too great for him to exert.

"its unsafe to use the vessel without a licence ( in response to the recent tragedy which claims 6 lives off Mersing). " how profound! damn it, in the first place how did an unlicensed vessel can continue to ply the waters. if there were enough lifejackets, there would be no tragedy, isnt it?

To qualify as a Miss Universe contestant,
1.his moustache would have to go 2.he has to borrow Samy's toupee
3.he has to put on Michelle Yeo's bikini
and lastly,
4.he has to undergo a Lorena Bobbit dismemberment

What makes everyone think that our PM will get to the final round in that Ms dunowhat paegant? For me, I think PM will be kicked out way way before quarter finals! Some more want to berangan-angan mimpi go final round and answer questions with nonsensical answers ah? Ohhh... thats too much credit for that little fella we call PM!!

Anyway, nothing shocks me anymore. Not the PM giving nonsensical remarks, police force and what suppose to be a family oriented ministry giving inhuman remarks about thinking of charging the parents of Nurin right after her horrific death, Nazri with his ever famous crazy and stupiak (mother of all stupids) remarks, some ugly looking assembly man who shamelessly show off his castle built on ill gotten money and land robbed from God knows whom or where... NOTHING!!! NOT even if Najib comes out from the closet and declare himself GAY. NOTHING!

Maybe we should have an olympics type of competition amongst all the cabinet ministers, assemblymen and what have you la.. See who will come out the gold medalist for being the mother of all stupids.. STUPIAK! We shall call it the Olympics of the STUPIDS!

Aiyo! He is nowhere near Ms Universe. At least the beauty queens answered off the cuff.

Whereas, Dato Seri Tak Tau, just read his speeches prepared by the 4th floor boys.

Badawi is smarter than Tun M as he does not work so hard and still have all the perks of office and a new Airbus to jetset around

How did he express disapproval? My suggestion:Boycott the Beijing Olympics. See my sidebar.

I like your blog.

Both of them have acquired that travel itch while purportedly doing their jobs. The Tun after 22 years screwing up the country got himself attached to Petronas which has its own executive jet available for his use as well, presumably.

Poor holiday makers use of cattle car ferries to just visit the likes of Pulau Tioman and get themselves into grief imitating the least semblance of the touring thing while the roughish tour operators enriched themselves.

"Boycott the Beijing Olympics"
Right, Zorro, but I don't think Bangsatland has what it takes to do do. First of all, it's leadership does not understand what's the truth ; it just proffer never ending spins and hopeless platitudes.

BTW, the Press Freedom Index just dropped to its lowest:

Malaysia fell to its worst ranking ever - dropping by 32 spots to 124 - in the latest worldwide press freedom index released by Paris-based watchdog Reporters Without Borders.

No sooner has he said, "“Let me express my country's disapproval, together with other Asean countries, on the use of excessive force by the Myanmar government to put down justifiable civilian protests.”

....then his spudhead FM quickly sprang up and said that Bodohland will NEVER support expelling Burma from the AssSeen!

That's a very fine way of expressing "displeasure"! Than Shwe must be very bothered indeed.

"There must be a will to moderate mankind’s excesses using science and technology as tools, the Prime Minister said."

Even Oprah might say the same. Yet there's more to it than that. And that's the persistently blind upholding of wrong worldview and ideology, namely like what the Arabs and islamic nations have gotten themselves into:

q/ The barrier to better Arab performance is not a lack of resources, concludes the report, but the lamentable shortage of three essentials: freedom, knowledge and womanpower. Not having enough of these amounts to what the authors call the region's three “deficits”. It is these deficits, they argue, that hold the frustrated Arabs back from reaching their potential—and allow the rest of the world both to despise and to fear a deadly combination of wealth and backwardness. u/q

Yet bolehland are all out to look up too and show off to the these same nations - eg., like via that Space tourist stunt. Not as if Bolehland intended the hype more towards the more advance nations. The son of an ustaz can only have greater partiality for things arabic...it easily figures.

The sleepy talking head can indulge in platitudes about "justifiable civilian protest" in Burma. "Disapproval" can mean anything and nothing. He might have at least used, "censure", here but expectedly has no guts to.

What about local protests against many heavy handed demolition of temples, buildings and other structures for development? Are there not justifiable civilian protests involved too, something which could have been better handled by his gahmen instead of being repeated in the same manner of bad handling? Or the recent hurried drive against pig farmers in Malacca.

Many years ago, in Malacca over the Bk. Cina tension, only insiders would have known how close the authorities(politicians) there were to orderng the army for the use of deadly force against unarmed civilians. Rumours were there...but the big demo fortunately didn't take place.
