Looks Like Lulu Is Stuck WIth Having To Subscribe to Malaysiakini For A Long, Long Time

If Lulu were a Star-only reader, Lulu would not have given this piece of news a second thought.

It almost sounds like a pleasant meeting.
But as most of you already would have guessed, Lulu is a Malaysiakini subscriber.
Malaysiakini paints a more realistic picture of what was happening on the ground in Malacca compared to the sanitised version in the Star.

Looks like this is how "personnel from the Federal Reserve Unit, police, Public Works Department, Malacca City Council and ALor Gajah Municipal Council had gone to the four pig rearing areas to cull the pigs"

Tense stand-off over pig farms eases
Sep 4, 07 3:27pm
Police personnel pulled out of Paya Mengkuang New Village at 4.05pm, easing the worries of pig farmers who had expected to see all their animals forcibly culled today.
It is learnt that as part of a deal struck at a two-hour meeting between state authorities and MCA top leaders, the farmers will now voluntarily relocate at least 1,000 of their pigs to Johor and Selangor within the next few days. This could not be immediately confirmed.
Since this morning, about 100 villagers had faced off 300 enforcement officers in a tense stand-off over action to close their pig farms. The villagers had kept a vigil in the area since last night.
All major roads leading into Paya Mengkuang - about 30 minutes’ drive north of Malacca city - were cordoned off by the police, isolating the village. Numerous media personnel resorted to seeking local knowledge for off-road entrances to the area.

Send the swine elsewhere or they'll be culled
Sep 4, 07 11:07pm
A tense standoff between pig farmers and enforcement authorities in several pig farms in Malacca ended today when a deal was struck between MCA representatives and the state officials.
Abdul Rahman said the state government has set a Sept 21 deadline for the pig farmers to export 92,000 animals to other states.

Its thanks to the half truths in the mainstream media which allows for the existense of the alternative media.

Hi Lulu

That's why I subscribed to Malaysiakini and refused to give my password to anyone.

Why? Becos I support free press.

I wonder what would happen if we release 120,000 pigs and let them charge towards the FRU etc. Wondering whether they can go to heaven after that. If they still can, what then is the problem. Why can't they keep the pigs?

Pollution? Please lah. Our rivers have already been poisoned.

The grovelling drivel in the mainstream press hardly even qualifies as 'half-truths' I'm afraid. 'Baldfaced lies, shameless sycophancy and propaganda' would be a more accurate term.

I have boycotted the NST for about 10 years, and have boycotted the Star for about 5 years, and am constantly calling on friends, family and acquaintances to boycott these propaganda organs disguised as 'national newspapers'.

Seriously, I wonder how those mercenaries in the mainstream press sleep at night. If there is anyone with integrity left in there, I hope they break away as soon as possible.

I hardly care to click on sources such as NST, Bernama or theStar and the like on the Net such as when found in Yap's Berita Malaysia Egroups.

Ghostline is right; to avoid throwing up your breakfast, avoid the MSM.
