On June 21st, it was reported that hot after the crimewave which hit JB, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also Defence Minister, and also at that time had assumed the additional task of Internal Security Minister in the absence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is was in Russia announced that
Four hundred more cops in the streets, RM6mil for three new temporary district police headquarters and 200 more police vehicles for patrolling – these are among the measures approved by the Cabinet yesterday to clean up Johor Baru after the recent spate of violent crimes there.Lulu started thinking and thinking and thinking.
Then Lulu realised
400 more cops
did our police force suddenly get 400 more recruits?
or did they pinch the 400 from existing police districts?
is this a sum zero game, whereby JB's gain is exactly balanced by the losses of many other small towns?
I can only hope that they didn't pinch them from where Lulu hangs out.
and speaking of the police force, ChinTong at Malaysiana posted the breakdown of the police force in our nation.
If Lulu's not mistaken, perjawatan is positions, whereas kekuatan is the actual take up.
Note the number who are in the actual police work vs management and logistics.
Also, Cawangan Khas vs Siasatan Jenayah
ChinTong further asks the rhetorical question, Where have all the police gone? Check it out.
